MUSIC FRIDAY : I’ll See You In My Dreams (Concert For George)

I have been away for a long time.  Two months is a long time.  My last post was Music Monday.  It would be just right if I will re-start with music, this time though, and only for this time, it will be Music Friday.

There are just some days during the year when I can’t breathe.  Today is one of them days.

We remember.  Today.  Everyday.  Every heartbeat.  We remember.

Lonely days are long
Twilight sings a song
All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close
Soon I’ll find repose
And in dreams
You’re always near to me

I’ll see you in my dreams
Hold you in my dreams
Someone took you right out of my arms
Still I feel the thrill of your charms

Lips that once were mine
Tender eyes that shine
They will light my way tonight

I’ll see you in my dreams

Lips that once were mine
Tender eyes that shine
They will light my way tonight
I’ll see you in my dreams

They will light my lonely way tonight
I’ll…see you in my dreams

LOVE always.

 Dear Home,

Thank you for keeping our site up and updated.  Can’t promise I will not disappear again.  But I will always come back – that is a promise.  I will still run away.  I will still escape.  I will still hide.  I will still wander.  Maybe until the end of my days.

Hope you and Mr G are enjoying the A break

MUSIC MONDAY : 21 Guns (Green Day)

Featured

I do not know why I thought of this song for this Monday.

I just remembered that this was a song that was sung and was dedicated by a fine young man to another during the closing program of Summer Camp in 2010.

Somehow, there is something in the words & lyrics that struck me.

“Do you know what’s worth fighting for? When it’s not worth dying for? Does it take your breath away?  And you feel yourself suffocating?

Does the pain weigh out the pride? And you look for a place to hide? Did someone break your heart inside? You’re in ruins

When you’re at the end of the road, and you lost all sense of control.  And your thoughts have taken heir toll.  When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul

Your faith walks on broken glass.  And the hangover doesn’t pass.  Nothing’s ever built to last.  You’re in ruins.

Did you try to live on your own, when you burned down the house and home? Did you stand too close to the fire?  Like a liar looking for forgiveness from a stone?

When it’s time to live and let die, and you can’t get another try, something inside this heart has died.  You’re in ruins

One, 21 guns. Lay down your arms, give up the fight.  One, 21 guns.  Throw up your arms into the sky.  You and I”

End of a long weekend.  Have a good week ahead.

Thank you for the birthday greetings Home 😀

Music Thursday : Just A Love Song (Walter Murphy)

Image

Missed Music Monday last week and missed Music Monday again this week.  Hah! Internet connection (thumbs down, sigh…).  Reminder to self : change internet provider!

So it is Music Thursday – just for this week.

The rains have stopped (almost) and the floods have receded and there is a somehow a feeling of being refreshed.

A few weeks back I found a message in a song that has been stored in my iPad but I have never listened to.  Just like the rains, the message that this song brought somehow refreshed a heart that has been so lonely lately.

“Here we are again and words are hard to find.  But I guess that never was my style.  All I have to offer is my song.  So I play it well.  ‘Cause it’s all for you

It’s just a love song.  And I will sing it all for you.  Just a love song, a simple melody for two.  But to me it sounds just like a symphony.

And when the words have come and gone.  My love will linger on for you.

Hope you’ll understand how much you mean to me.  All the ways you’ve brought me happiness. Just to say it isn’t quite enough. So I’ll play it well.  And I hope you’ll hear.

It’s not easy for easy for me baby. I know it’s hard to understand.  I get that feeling every time I try to say – I love you.

All the feelings I have locked inside my soul.  All the magic you bring out in me.  You’re my inspiration, my every dream.

So listen well and I think you’ll know.

Just a love song Just a love song for you.”

Music Mondays : How Deep Is Your Love (Bee Gees)

Image

“I know you eyes in the morning sun.  I feel you touch me in the pouring rain.  And the moment that you wander far from me, I want to feel you in my arms again.

And you come to me like a summer breeze.  Keep me warm in your love, then you softly leave.

And it is me you need to show – how deep is your love.  I really need to learn.  Cause we’re living in a world of fools, breaking us down, when they all should let us be.  We belong to you and me.

I believe in you.  You know the door to my very soul.  You’re the light in my deepest, darkest hours.  You’re my savior when I fall.

And you may not think I care for you, when you know deep insider that I really do.  And it’s me you need to show – how deep is your love…”

This is one of the songs in the iconic ‘70s Travolta movie, Saturday Night Fever.   By the Bee Gees, sung by the Bee Gees.  Sung at one time by Grade 1 boys as a gift to Mom’s on Mother’s Day.   Since that day, some way, somehow this has become our song.

One recording with three voices.  Another recording with one sweet voice.  A remembrance that connects me to life.  Once of my most treasured possessions.

Music Mondays : I’ll See You In My Dreams (Joe Brown)

Music Mondays.   Something I hope to start, to be become a regular of the site.

Music has always been a part of my life.  I married someone who is in love with music and we raised a son whose days were likewise filled with music.  We sang songs together whenever we travel by car, we watch music videos during rainy days while eating M&M’s, we snuggle in bed with our favorite CD playing in the background.  Monday is a significant day, a day of wings.  Music Mondays.

Concert for George, a tribute concert organized by Eric Clapton for George Harrison after he passed on, was one of our favorite music videos.  I do not even recall how many times we have seen this together.  Towards the end of the concert, Joe Brown with his ukulele played “I’ll See You in my Dreams” – orange and yellow flower petals slowly falling from the ceiling of Albert Hall – falling like a sheer curtain in front of a huge black and white photo of George Harrison.  That part of the music video always brought tears to my eyes – without fail, regardless of how many times I have seen it.

Lonely days are long

Twilight sings a song

All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close

Soon I’ll find repose

And in my dreams

You’re always near to me

I’ll see you in my dreams

Hold you in my dreams

Someone took you right out of my arms

Still I feel the thrill of your charms

Lips that once were mine

Tender eyes that shine

They will light my lonely way tonight

I’ll see you in my dreams . . .

Last 2010, music was one of the things that held me together.  And this song has taken on an even more intimate meaning since.
